Avoya Travel confirms successful completion of Avoya Travel Forum 2022

Avoya Travel recently concluded the 2022 Avoya Travel Land Forum, which took place approximately April 12-14 and included an in-person event May 1-4 at Hilton Cancun, an all-inclusive resort.

Hundreds of independent agencies participated in the Avoya Travel Network between virtual and in-person events that included sponsorship of nearly 40 of Avoya’s favorite partners on the ground, a wide range of networking opportunities, and a plethora of educational and professional development options.

The hybrid event featured informative and inspiring presentations by well-known travel suppliers in the wilderness vacation space, titled Jackie Marks, Executive Vice President, Commerce and B2B Sales at Apple Leisure Group Vacations; Barbara Hearn, USA Sales Director at Allianz Partners; Robin Basu, Senior Director, Travel Industry Partnerships, Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau; And much more.

The positive energy and excitement of the Avoya Network members in attendance were visible and tangible and fueled in part by the many improvements and initiatives within the Avoya Vacations platform that were announced at the hybrid event. Noteworthy developments include greater integration of hotels and resorts within Avoya’s SaaS technology, Agent Power, the recent upgrade of the wilderness vacation search engine on AvoyaTravel.com, an increase in preferred land partners and optional resources for selling vacation land, and more.

Avoya also shared compelling figures during the event’s plenary sessions indicating the success of Avoya’s massive expansion in vacation offerings on land and a significant increase in vacation on land business compared to 2019. Among the numbers shared was an 80% increase in commissions based on Annual – Resort sales to date compared to 2019 figures, plus a 300% increase in sales from direct, patented offerings to resort suppliers who attended the Avoya Travel Land Forum. Avoya noted that 57% of YTD land reservation sales are new customers for Avoya, indicating significant growth in the Avoya land book business.

Strong networking opportunities for the event were another component of programming that was praised by independent agencies and preferred Avoya partners alike. Throughout the virtual event, attendees had the option to make one-on-one appointments with travel suppliers and other independent agencies, engage in “speed dating” with event sponsors to encourage more diverse networking, and attend a large trade fair featuring virtual travel supplier booths. All this was in addition to the cocktail parties designed to provide a casual atmosphere for networking, socializing and relationship building. Networking opportunities continued in the in-person event as attendees participated in supplier roundtables to learn more about the various sponsoring brands, dine on property to learn about resort offerings and facilitate personal and small group interactions, nightly cocktail parties, and exclusive tequila and mezcal tastings hosted by Hilton Hotels & Resorts. .

A key element of the in-person portion of the event were experiential learning opportunities where independent agencies were encouraged to explore the all-new Hilton Cancun property to become more familiar with the product and all-inclusive resort experience; Attendees also had the opportunity to visit the much-anticipated Waldorf Astoria Cancun nearby. The hugely popular scavenger hunt game gave attendees an interactive and engaging activity to discover all that the Hilton Cancun Resort has to offer. In addition, Avoya has obtained free or deeply discounted FAMs at several hotels in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area for independent agencies that have chosen to take advantage of the earlier and later options, enhancing their expertise in the resort space.
