How to Travel Fast in V Rising

A key feature of vampires, at least in their original portrayal, is their ability to take the form of a bat to get through the night quickly. in V height, You can technically change its shape but it won’t have much effect on your ability to travel. You have all the natural weaknesses of a mythical creature, such as an aversion to sunlight and a need to suck blood in order to survive, but you must stick to normal transportation most of the time. Sure, having a horse speeds up your traversal, but the map is really big and sometimes you just want to go from side to side quickly.

Fast travel appears in V . height In two different ways: Waygates and Cave Passages. Both have advantages, disadvantages, and ways to unleash them. However, as your power grows, you’ll need to visit far-flung areas of the world faster and more often, which makes fast travel invaluable. Here’s how both fast travel methods work V . height and where you can find them.

How does Waygates work?

Waygates is the most traditional way to fast travel in V . height. You will naturally encounter them as structures on the map, indicated by a gate with a vortex icon on your map. Once you get close enough to one of them to ping your map, you will see its name and it will be there permanently. By interacting with Waygate, you can select any other site you have already found to instantly transfer yourself to that site. Looks good, doesn’t it? Well, there are a few catches.

The first is obvious – in order to use it, you have to find which Waygate you want to use and travel to, but there aren’t many in every area. There’s always one point close to any point of interest you’re likely to want to visit, but you’ll still dig it in a bit. The second drawback is the big one. You cannot go through any Waygate as long as you have anything on your character besides equipment or consumables. This means that you cannot quickly move craft resources like wood, fibres, stones, or whatever else you’ve been collecting. If you’re going to look for resources like these, Waygate can take you somewhere to gather, but you’ll be back on your own to your castle.

One advantage of Waygates is that you can actually create your own. Once you defeat a boss named Polora the Feywalker at Gleaming Meadows, you’ll get a blueprint for crafting your own Waygates and placing them in more suitable locations. To build one, you will need:

  • 10 jewel dust
  • 20 copper ingot
  • 20 plank
  • 200 blood essence

Portals you create can only be used by you, so if you’re using a PvP server, don’t worry about defacing an enemy player next to your base if you put one there.

There are 10 virtual road gates to search for V . height, although of course you can build more. Standard places are located in the following places marked by the swirl icons on the map above:

  • There are four road gates in Farbane Woods, located at the bottom of the map. The downside is that they are all mainly located in the far corners of the area, which makes them not very useful for wandering within the same area.
  • In the central region, Denley Farlands, there are four other Waygates. There are three of them roughly in line along the southern part, with only one near the centre, again not offering much in the way of facilities for the area as a whole.
  • In Silverlight Hills, you are stuck with Waygate by default. If you intend to spend a lot of time in this area, you will need to make more gates yourself to avoid long and dangerous journeys.
  • The final solo Waygate is located in the Cursed Forest, near the entrance to the district. The same can be said here as with Silverlight Hills Waygate, although this initial fast travel point is a bit more useful.

How do cave passages work?

Cave Corridors are the alternative form of fast travel at your disposal in V . height. Think of these as fast, one-way travel points. Each one you enter can take you directly to a predetermined exit, making it less versatile than Waygates. You can spot these caves as glowing red crevices in the landscape, and you can use them without even discovering the exit.

The disadvantage of Cave Passages lies in its strict limitations, but the advantage is that you can take the resources freely. To make the most of it, you can try to build your castle near the entrance or exit of one of them to make it easier to transport goods.

In comparison, there are only four cave passages to 10 Waygates in V height – Four entrances and four exits. Since you can only enter the entry points, unless you immediately turn around after an exciting point, we’ll just tell you where the entrances are and where to dump you. Again, refer to the map above and look for the gray crystal icons to identify the cave passages.

  • The Cursed Forest has two entrances. The one in the far north, just above Waygate, takes you all the way to the far southwest point at Farbane Woods. The other, to the east, shoots you into the northwest region of Dunley Farmlands.
  • From the Cave Passage Center in Dunley Farmlands, you can zip right into the middle of Farbane Woods.
  • Finally, the Single Cave Trail in Silverlight Hills will spit you out on the far east coast of the Farban Woods.
