Recruitment season is in full swing in college football and that means teams are ramping up their efforts to try to get some of the best prospects in the country. Georgia is filled with some of the best talent in the country. Even if a potential customer doesn’t have five stars next to their name, that doesn’t mean they can’t attend and make an immediate impact.
Georgia Tech is still looking for its first commitment to the 2023 class. This will be a pivotal category for coach Jeff Collins in his fourth season as head coach. He had no more than three wins in a season and some of the team’s best players last season disappeared. He can alleviate these concerns by grouping some commitments into this category.
Showcased The Yellow Jackets are looking for some of the state’s and country’s top domestic attack airlines. Who will be their highest goals in 2023?
Let’s discuss it.
Robert Grigsby- North Cope High School, Georgia
Robert Grigsby, a local producer from North Cobb High School, got an offer from Georgia Tech in January. He hasn’t visited Atlanta yet, but it’s safe to say that Collins and his crew are working hard to get him on campus. Grigsby is an imposing lineman who weighs 6-4302 pounds and can develop into an influential player.
More of the Five Powers are starting to notice Grigsby’s talent as well. Utah, North Carolina, Mississippi, Missouri, Ole Miss, Dock, Louisville, and North Carolina provided the Georgia line. Technology must recruit him aggressively and make sure he stays at home.
Jonathan Klein – Cartersville High School, Georgia
Jonathan Klein, another inland entrepreneur from Peach State, sees his stock rising as a recruiter and other top schools start noticing his talent. Cline was featured by The Yellow Jackets Company in January and has garnered more attention ever since.
Cline has other offerings from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Miami, NC State, North Carolina and Georgia Southern. He hasn’t visited Georgia Tech since getting the show and the Yellow Jackets coaching staff must work to change that. Watch this recruit in summer and fall.
Connor Liu – Kennesaw Mountain High School, Georgia
Staying in the state, the yellow jacket’s next potential top target in the home offensive line is Kennesaw Mountain High School’s Connor Liu. Leo is rated a three-star recruit by 247 sports, and he has improved each season and schools are starting to take notice.
Leo has been on the radar of the Yellow Vests and their coaching staff for a while, having premiered back in November of 2020. Since then, some top schools in the country have taken notice and Leo has received offers from Georgia, Miami, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee , among other things. This will be a major recruitment of personnel and one of the most important objectives of the internal lines.
Nathan Ivobe – South Forsyth High School, Georgia
Nathan Efobi of South Forsyth must be one of Georgia Tech’s top offensive linemen targets. Ivobe was introduced by The Yellow Jackets in March of 2021 and attended one of the camps the Yellow Jackets held last summer. The Efobi is a 6-4 282-pound prospect, rated a three-star according to 247 sports.
In the past few months, Efobi has seen its stock soar and it has several upcoming five energy offerings. Miami, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest, and Louisville have all showcased the talented employee. It will be a major battle for the yellow jackets and staff.
Truffon Pugh – Pace Academy, Georgia
The linear factor that should be the top target for Collins and his staff should be Truvon Pugh of Pace Academy. While playing at a local high school, Bough improved each season and saw his recruiting improve. At 6-4 315 pounds, the Bough is rated a three-star prospect by 247 Sports.
Bough is viewed by many of the five strong schools and holds offerings from South Carolina, Arkansas, Dock, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and more. The Yellow Vests will have to battle some of their ACC rivals for the line factor.
